About the company
How safe is my money with JFD Overseas?
Client funds are held in a separate, segregated account with a credit institution, apart from the company’s own funds, in line with the applicable regulatory requirements. Detailed records of client transactions are kept.
Client money is therefore handled separately and does not become part of the company’s general operating funds. This does not mean that trading is free of risk: see Regulation and licences.
Is JFD Overseas regulated?
Yes. JFD Overseas Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (VFSC) under Financial Dealer Licence No. 17933. It has been licensed for Classes A, B and C since 17 January 2023, and the VFSC’s public register of financial dealers lists the licence as active.
The company has an identifiable legal entity, a regulator and a specific licence, which you can check independently.
Which company provides my services?
If you open an account with JFD Overseas, your contractual relationship is with JFD Overseas Ltd and its regulatory framework. The legal documents name the legal entity that provides the service, so you know exactly who you are dealing with.
How do withdrawals work?
JFD Overseas publishes its withdrawal procedures and accepts withdrawal requests from its clients. Bank withdrawals are returned by bank transfer; some electronic payment methods are also available, depending on the method used for the deposit.
Withdrawals and refunds are normally returned to the original source of the deposit, as part of the controls against money laundering and financial crime.
This does not mean that trading is free of risk or that every withdrawal is instant. It means there is a documented, traceable process for handling client funds.
Which legal documents does JFD Overseas publish?
JFD Overseas publishes its legal documents:
- Client Agreement
- Risk Disclosure
- Complaints Handling Policy
- Conflict of Interest Policy
- Order Execution Policy
- Privacy Policy
- Leverage Policy
They set out the rights and obligations of both sides, including how your account, trades, fees, withdrawals and complaints are handled. Read the documents that apply to your account before you trade.
What rules apply to a licensed financial dealer?
The VFSC’s regulatory framework includes licensing requirements, ongoing supervision, AML/CFT requirements, record-keeping requirements and the power to take enforcement action against financial dealers that do not meet their obligations.
Its market-practice and code-of-conduct guidance sets standards for licensed dealers: integrity, fair dealing, acting in good faith, care and diligence, and no manipulative or deceptive conduct.
This does not mean that a regulator guarantees that any trade will make money. It means that a licensed financial dealer operates within a regulatory framework and has regulatory obligations.
How can I make a complaint?
JFD Overseas publishes a Complaints Handling Policy. If you believe the company has done something wrong, you can make a formal complaint under it. Complaints are recorded and can be escalated.
The VFSC also has a formal process for complaints against licensed financial dealers. According to its published guidance, you should first try to resolve the issue with JFD Overseas through the company’s complaints process. If the matter is not resolved satisfactorily, the complaint can then be brought to the VFSC under the applicable procedure.
How can I recognise a fake website?
Websites have falsely claimed to be connected with JFD Overseas, to obtain personal information, registration data or funds. A website that claims to be JFD is not necessarily JFD.
Before you send money, check the website’s domain, the legal entity named in your agreement, the e-mail address, the payment details and the regulator’s register.
What does regulation not mean?
Being regulated does not mean that:
- you cannot lose money;
- every trade will be profitable;
- forex or CFD trading is safe;
- the broker guarantees your investment;
- there is no market risk;
- JFD Overseas can guarantee a particular return.
Trading CFDs involves significant risk, and a high percentage of retail investor accounts lose money. That is why regulation and risk disclosure matter: a regulated broker explains the risks rather than promising easy profits.
How can I check JFD Overseas myself?
You can check the main details independently:
- Company: JFD Overseas Ltd
- Regulator: Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (VFSC)
- Licensed since: 17 January 2023
- Company registration number: 17933
- Company status: active since 23 May 2017
- Website: www.jfdoverseas.com
The VFSC’s public list of licensed financial dealers confirms the active licence. With any broker, check who regulates it, which legal entity you are dealing with, what your agreement says and which complaint procedures are available.

Opening an account
How safe is online registration with JFD Overseas?
The online registration forms use certificate-based SSL encryption, the protocol banks also use, to protect your privacy.
How do I open an individual account?
A corporate account can also be opened. For an individual account:
- Complete the registration page: first name, last name, country of residence, phone number, e-mail address and password. Confirm that you are over 18, and click “Continue” to receive a PIN at your e-mail address.
- Enter the PIN on the next page. You can request a new PIN after one minute and, at this step, change your e-mail address if you need to.
- On the dashboard, click the green “Start Verification” button. Confirm your country of residence and upload an identity document (ID card, passport or driving licence) with every detail visible and easy to read; then a proof of address issued within the last 6 months, other than the identity document (a bank document, a utility bill, a government-issued document such as a tax notice, or a mobile phone bill); then take a selfie.
- Provide your personal information.
- Complete the short “Appropriateness Test”, which assesses whether you have the knowledge and experience to trade high-risk financial products. If you fail it, you cannot go on, but you can take it again.
Once these steps are complete, you can deposit and trade. Until then, you can open demo or live accounts on MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, but you cannot deposit into a live account or trade. Any step you missed is under “Profile”: “SumSub Verification” for your identity and proof of address, and “Personal Information”, which appears once the SumSub verification is passed.
What must I complete before I can deposit?
The regulatory authority requires a fully verified account with complete personal information. If you skip any of these steps, you cannot deposit or trade:
- upload a valid ID card, passport or driving licence;
- prove your address with an acceptable document;
- take and upload a selfie;
- complete the Personal Information section;
- complete and pass the Appropriateness Test (you can take it again if you fail);
- open a trading account.
Which documents do I need to open a live account?
Before you can open a live account, you will be asked for:
- a copy of a valid international passport, with the photo, personal data, signature, dates of issue and expiry, place of issue and serial number clearly legible;
- a proof of address no more than 6 months old, such as an electricity, heating or water bill, or a credit card statement, that clearly shows your name and address;
- a selfie.
Other identity documents may be accepted or required, depending on your country of birth or home country. Customer Support will contact you if needed.
In which currencies can I open an account?
In euros (EUR), pounds sterling (GBP) and US dollars (USD).
How do I open another trading account?
You can open an additional trading account in the client portal.
Why can’t I open an account?
This is about registering in the first place, not about opening a trading account. Possible reasons:
- Your jurisdiction is blocked: JFD Overseas is not allowed to offer its services there at this time.
- You need to enter the 4-digit PIN sent to your e-mail address as soon as you register on the registration page (also in Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic). Check your spam folder for it, as messages from JFD Overseas sometimes end up there.
I didn’t receive the PIN
Check your spam or junk folder. If the message is there, mark it as “not spam” so that it does not happen again.
Or e-mail support@jfdoverseas.com, and client support will help you.
Why can’t I verify my account?
Common reasons:
- Your details differ from those you registered with: your first name, last name and address must match.
- Your identity document has expired.
- Your proof of address was issued more than 6 months ago.
- You uploaded an identity document as proof of address. The proof of address must be a valid document that shows the address you registered with.
- Your proof of address shows a different address from the one you registered with.
- The document is not readable, or the image is unclear.
- The image does not show the whole document: all four corners must be visible.
- There is a spelling mistake in your registration.
- You first registered a corporate account, in the name of a company, instead of an individual account.
- Your proof of address is not a valid document: for example a shop receipt, an online money transfer receipt, an online purchase receipt or an envelope mailed to your address.
If you registered with the wrong information by mistake, e-mail support@jfdoverseas.com, and your registration information will be corrected as soon as possible.
Deposits
I don’t remember my password. How do I get a new one?
For the client portal, use the forgotten-password link on the login page and follow the steps sent to you by e-mail.
For the password of a trading account, send a request to support@jfdoverseas.com.
Why can’t I deposit?
You cannot deposit when:
- You have opened a trading account but not fully verified your profile (verification). You will keep seeing the message “You don’t have any accounts to deposit to. Open a Trading Account”. Verifying your profile, completing your profile information and passing the Appropriateness Test are the 3 mandatory steps before you can deposit: you cannot deposit first and verify later.
- You have not opened a live account. Choose “Open a Trading Account” (new live account), then MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5. You can open both without depositing into them; both platforms support every account type. Without verification, you still cannot deposit.
- Your account is a demo account. Demo accounts use virtual funds and cannot receive deposits.
I have verified my account but still can’t deposit. Why?
After verification, the regulatory authority requires two more steps before you can deposit:
- Complete your profile information: only the fields marked in red.
- Complete and pass the Appropriateness Test.
The deposit page is in the client portal.
