Fees and charges

Other charges that can apply to your account.

Withdrawals
Processing fees may apply, imposed by your bank or payment provider and not by JFD Overseas. You are solely responsible for them; JFD Overseas does not cover third-party fees.
Inactivity fee
20 EUR, USD or GBP a month, depending on the base currency, on each trading account with no trading or funding for three consecutive months. It is charged only to real-money accounts with enough available funds, and never to accounts that have not yet been funded.
Currency conversion fee
1% on the exchange rate applicable at the time, when an internal transfer, deposit, dividend payment or similar funding action is in a currency other than your account’s base currency.

Swaps on forex and metals

If you hold forex or precious metals positions through the rollover, you may be charged swap. The swap rate is the interest rate differential between the two currencies of the pair, and depends on whether your position is long or short. The rates can change with volatility; they are reviewed and updated daily.

Questions about accounts

Which account should I choose?

Cent and Cent Plus accounts are held in US cents, so you can trade small positions in forex, metals and cryptocurrencies. Standard, Privilege and Pro accounts are held in USD, EUR or GBP and add indices, commodities and shares. The Pro account has the lowest average spreads and charges a commission. Exclusive is a tailor-made account type, on request.

What is the minimum deposit?

It depends on the account type: 20 for Cent, 50 for Cent Plus, 100 for Standard, 150 for Privilege and 200 for Pro, in EUR, USD or GBP. For Exclusive, it varies.

In which currencies can I open an account?

In euros (EUR), pounds sterling (GBP) and US dollars (USD). Cent and Cent Plus accounts are held in US cents.

Can I trade on MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5?

Yes. Every account type is available on both platforms, and you can open accounts on both without depositing into them.

Are scalping and automated trading allowed?

Yes, whatever your trading style. You can use any Expert Advisor (automated trading system).

What happens at margin call and stop out?

When your equity falls below 80% of the required margin, you receive a margin call. Below 20%, positions are closed automatically, starting with the one with the largest loss.

Are client funds kept separate?

Yes. Client funds are held in a separate, segregated account with a reputable credit institution, apart from the company’s own funds.

Is the online registration secure?

The online registration forms use certificate-based SSL encryption, the protocol banks also use.

How do I open an individual account?

You can also open a corporate account. For an individual account:

  1. Complete the registration page (first name, last name, country of residence, phone number, email address and password), confirm that you are over 18, and select Continue. A PIN is sent to your email address.
  2. Enter the PIN on the next page. You can ask for a new PIN after one minute, and change your email address at this step.
  3. On your dashboard, select Start Verification. Confirm your country of residence and upload an identity document (ID card, passport or driving licence) with every detail legible; then a proof of address issued within the last 6 months and different from the first document (a bank document, a utility bill, a government-issued document such as a tax notice, or a mobile phone bill) that shows the address you registered; then take a selfie.
  4. Complete your personal information.
  5. Take the Appropriateness Test, a short test of whether you have the knowledge and experience to trade high-risk financial products. If you do not pass, you cannot go further, but you can take it again.

Once these steps are complete, you can deposit and trade. Until then you can open demo and live accounts on MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, but you cannot deposit into a live account, and so cannot trade. Any missing step is under Profile in the client portal: SumSub Verification for your identity and address, and Personal Information, which appears once the verification is passed.

What must I complete before I can deposit?

The regulatory authority requires a fully verified account with complete personal information. You cannot deposit or trade until you have:

  • uploaded a valid ID card, passport or driving licence
  • proved your address with an acceptable document
  • taken and uploaded a selfie
  • completed the Personal Information section
  • passed the Appropriateness Test (you can take it again if you fail)
  • opened a trading account
What documents do I need to open a live account?
  • A copy of a valid international passport, with the photo, personal data, signature, dates of issue and expiry, place of issue and serial number clearly legible.
  • A proof of address no older than 6 months, such as a utility bill (electricity, heating, water) or a credit card statement that clearly shows your name and address.
  • A selfie.

Other identity documents may be accepted or required, depending on your country of birth or home country. Customer Support will contact you if needed.

How do I open another trading account?

In the client portal, under Accounts.

Why am I unable to open an account?

This is about registering with JFD Overseas, not opening a trading account. Possible reasons:

  • Your country is restricted: JFD Overseas is not allowed to offer its services in your jurisdiction at this time.
  • The PIN: after you register on the registration page, you must enter the 4-digit PIN sent to your email address. Check your spam folder for it too.
I did not receive the PIN

Check your spam or junk folder, and if the email is there, mark it as not spam so that it does not happen again. You can also write to support@jfdoverseas.com for help.

Why can’t I verify my account?
  • The details on your documents must match those you registered with, including your first name, last name and address.
  • Your identity document must not have expired.
  • Your proof of address must have been issued within the last 6 months and show the address you registered; an identity document cannot be used as proof of address.
  • The document must be readable, and the image must show all of it, with every corner visible.
  • Check your registration for a spelling mistake.
  • You may have started a corporate account, in the name of a company, instead of an individual account.
  • Some documents are not accepted as proof of address: shop receipts, online money transfer or purchase receipts, envelopes mailed to your address and similar.

If you registered with wrong information, write to support@jfdoverseas.com and your details will be corrected.

Why can’t I deposit?
  • Your profile is not fully verified. Until you complete the verification, the personal information and the Appropriateness Test, you will see a message that you have no accounts to deposit to.
  • You have no live account yet. Open a trading account on MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5; you can open both without depositing, and both support every account type.
  • Your account is a demo account, which uses virtual funds and cannot receive deposits.
I have verified my account but still cannot deposit. Why?

Two more steps follow the verification, both required by the regulatory authority before you can deposit:

  1. Complete your profile information; only the fields marked in red are needed.
  2. Take and pass the Appropriateness Test.

The deposit page is in the client portal under Funds › Deposit.
